Well, let&#8217;s begin just by, with a few basic facts about the Epistle to the Ephesians. And I&#8217;ll share my screen here with you, and you&#8217;ll see, I think, a Powerpoint show up here that will help to guide us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u597d\u5728\u6211\u4eec\u5f00\u59cb\u7684\u65f6\u5019\uff0c\u4eca\u5929\u5c31\u4f1a\u8bb2\u5230\u5173\u4e8e\u4ee5\u592b\u6240\u4e66\u91cc\u9762\u7684\u5185\u5bb9\uff0c\u90a3\u8fc8\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08\u8fd9\u91cc\u4e5f\u7ed9\u5927\u5bb6\u505a\u4e86\u6295\u5f71\uff0c\u5927\u5bb6\u53ef\u4ee5\u770b\u5230\u6295\u5f71\u4e0a\u7684\u4e2d\u82f1\u6587\u5bf9\u7167\u7684\u5185\u5bb9\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>So let&#8217;s start with a few basic facts about epistle, about Ephesians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u5148\u6765\u8bb2\u4e00\u8bb2\u6709\u5173\u7fbd\u592b\u6240\u7684 3 \u4e2a\u4e8b\u5b9e\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>The letter was written by the Christian apostle and missionary Paul in the first century ad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u4ee5\u7236\u6240\u4e66\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e00\u672c\u4e66\u662f\u57fa\u7763\u7684\u4f7f\u5f92\u4fdd\u7f57\u5728\u7b2c\u4e00\u4e16\u7eaa\u6240\u5199\uff0c\u7ed9\u4ee5\u592b\u6240\u6559\u4f1a\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>Now that is a very long time ago, and that might suggest that we would have a very difficult time understanding the letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>In addition. \u4e8b\u8ff9\u6240\u5199\u5230\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u73b0\u5728\u5df2\u7ecf\u86ee\u957f\u7684\u65f6\u95f4\u4e86\uff0c\u53ef\u80fd\u56e0\u4e3a\u65f6\u95f4\u7684\u8fc7\u53bb\u4e86\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u6709\u4e9b\u4e1c\u897f\u53ef\u80fd\u4e0d\u4e00\u5b9a\u80fd\u591f\u5b8c\u5168\u7684\u7406\u89e3\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>However, when Paul writes the specific letter, he does not deal in a, in, in a detailed way with the specific setting of emphasis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u4f46\u662f\u5f53\u4fdd\u7f57\u534f\u8bae\u8f85\u4f50\u4e66\u8fd9\u672c\u4e66\u7684\u65f6\u5019\uff0c\u5b83\u4e0d\u5355\u5355\u53ea\u662f\u5199\u7ed9\u5f53\u65f6\u7684\u6559\u4f1a\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>He writes very broadly, summarizing a grand theme of how god has acted in Christ to create the church for the redemption of humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u6240\u4ee5\u4ed6\u5f53\u65f6\u6240\u5199\u7684\u5c31\u662f\u5728\u4e00\u4e2a\u6bd4\u8f83\u5927\u7684\u56fe\u753b\u5f53\u4e2d\uff0c\u770b\u5230\u8036\u7a23\u57fa\u7763\u5728\u6559\u4f1a\u5f53\u4e2d\u600e\u6837\u628a\u6551\u8d4e\u7684\u8ba1\u5212\u5e26\u7ed9\u4eba\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>While the first century context marks some parts of the letter, it is a broad message that speaks to our. our Hearts today\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u867d\u7136\u4fdd\u7f57\u8fd9\u672c\u4e66\u662f\u5728\u7b2c\u4e00\u4e16\u7eaa\u6240\u5199\u7684\uff0c\u4f46\u76f4\u5230\u4eca\u5929\uff0c\u8fd9\u672c\u4e66\u4ecd\u7136\u662f\u5bf9\u6211\u4eec\u6709\u8bb8\u591a\u7684\u5e2e\u52a9\u548c\u5e26\u9886\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>A second fact about this precious letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u5173\u4e8e\u8fd9\u4e00\u672c\u4e66\u7684\u7b2c\u4e8c\u4e2a\u4e8b\u5b9e\u662f\u8fd9\u6837\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>Paul writes the letter from prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u4fdd\u7f57\u5728\u5199\u8fd9\u672c\u4e66\u7684\u65f6\u5019\uff0c\u4ed6\u662f\u5728\u76d1\u72f1\u5f53\u4e2d\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>now Prizns in the first century were not very comfortable places\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u5728\u7b2c\u4e00\u4e16\u7eaa\u7684\u76d1\u72f1\u5e76\u4e0d\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u5f88\u8212\u9002\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>The Romans didn&#8217;t have a lot of prisons. They didn&#8217;t use prisons to punish people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u7f57\u9a6c\u4eba\u5b9e\u9645\u4e0a\u6ca1\u6709\u5f88\u591a\u7684\u76d1\u72f1\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u4e5f\u4e0d\u662f\uff0c\u4e3b\u8981\u662f\u7528\u76d1\u72f1\u6765\u60e9\u7f5a\u4eba\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>They tended to use prisons to hold people awaiting trial only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u901a\u5e38\u5728\u7f57\u9a6c\u7684\u65f6\u4ee3\uff0c\u76d1\u72f1\u662f\u90a3\u4e9b\u7b49\u5f85\u8981\u53d7\u5ba1\u7684\u4eba\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u6682\u65f6\u5173\u62bc\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>Conditions, sanitary conditions were very poor. And if you expected to have any food, it would probably need to be brought to you by friends and relatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u5728\u76d1\u72f1\u91cc\u9762\u536b\u751f\u7684\u6761\u4ef6\u5f88\u5dee\uff0c\u800c\u4e14\u5982\u679c\u8981\u5403\u4e1c\u897f\u7684\u8bdd\uff0c\u901a\u5e38\u53ea\u6709\u4f60\u7684\u670b\u53cb\u6216\u8005\u4f60\u7684\u5bb6\u4eba\u4ece\u5916\u9762\uff0c\u4ece\u76d1\u72f1\u5916\u9762\u5e26\u98df\u7269\u7ed9\u4f60\uff0c\u4f60\u624d\u6709\u5403\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>So Paul is in the very straightened, difficult circumstances of being incarcerated in a prison, as he Ephesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7126\u7267\u5e08<br>\u4ed6\u5c31\u5199\u7ed9\u4ee5\u592b\u6240\u4e66\u3001\u4ee5\u592b\u6240\u6559\u4f1a\u7684\u5f1f\u5144\u59d0\u59b9\uff0c\u800c\u4ee5\u592b\u6240\u6559\u4f1a\u5f53\u65f6\u4e5f\u662f\u5728\u4e0d\u4e45\u4e4b\u524d\u521a\u521a\u63a5\u53d7\u57fa\u7763\u6559\u7684\u771f\u7406\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7ea6\u7ff0-\u9ea6\u514b\u7ef4\u7267\u5e08<br>Ephesus was one of the largest cities in the Roman a little difficult to estimate the population of ancient cities, but we believe that Ephesus was probably the third or fourth largest. city in the Roman it comes behind Rome and Alexandria, perhaps Corinth to be the third or fourth largest first of those is found in Acts Chapter 19 versus 13 through of names of every deity they could imagine in trying to expel the. demons from have now heard these names of Jesus and Paul circulating in the streets of their So back then, when Paul is in the city, it has become popular to think positively about Christianity, about are probably now many house churches in Ephesus itself and in the surrounding chapter 3, verse 1, he calls himself a prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf. half of you come back to this great passage at the end of Ephesians, but let&#8217;s get a little taste of it by listening to the words of Ephesians 6 versus ten. and for
